The Position

DevOps Engineers are responsible for developing automated solutions to operational issues and deployment tasks for both internal SaaS systems and customer hosted systems.

This includes using root cause analysis, proactive maintenance and monitoring. This position requires strong analytical abilities and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and oversight. Applicants are expected to be comfortable working with Linux, Kubernetes, Databases (PostgreSQL), Bash, Gitlab, Java, Python and Helm.

Responsibilities

• Setup and maintain internally facing SaaS solutions

• Develop, build out, and maintain automated CI/CD systems

• Help protect against and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities

• Operate distributed high availability systems

• Work with vendors to resolve issues in upstream modules, hardware or cloud offerings

• Document processes, changes and environments, document best practices and operational aspects

• Self organize and prioritize tasks and issues

• Work with development team to develop Docker and Kubernetes specific solutions

• Create automation solutions of manual tasks performed by support teams

• 1+ years of Linux experience in a professional setting

• 1+years of Kubernetes experience

• 1+years of experience using Git

• Working knowledge of build automation and CI/CD practices

• Scripting experience in Bash, Python, etc

• Familiarity with virtual machines, hypervisors, and containers

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and work directly with customers

• An advanced degree in Software Engineering or related discipline is preferred

• Exposure to networking, good understanding of IP communications protocols; Ethernet, TCP, and UDP

• Knowledge and exposure to telco and 3G/4G/LTE or 5G networks, technology, and hardware is an advantage

• Experience with Application Development and APIs is a definite advantage

• System monitoring and performance analysis exposure and experience is required
